LaTeX Editor ("the Service") is operated by Spicy Chai Labs. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Account data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google OAuth. We do not access your Google password.
Project data: LaTeX source files, bibliography files, and other documents you create or upload are stored in our database to provide the editing and compilation service.
Usage data: We track page compilations for credit billing, and collect basic analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the service.
Anonymous users: For users who compile without signing in, we store a device fingerprint (hashed) to track free render usage. No personal information is collected for anonymous users.
When you use AI-powered features (template population, inline editing, chat), your LaTeX content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. We do not use your content to train AI models. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy.
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firebase Authentication for secure login. Compiled PDFs are generated in temporary directories and deleted immediately after delivery.
Your projects and account data are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual projects at any time. To request full account deletion, contact us at the email below.
You can access, export, or delete your project data at any time through the editor interface. For account deletion or data export requests, contact us directly.
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
